Went off to New York for a weeks vacation. Paths crossed with friend Francis who is a member of a garage rock band called The Janitors. Unfortunately didn’t have a pro video camera in the back-pack but there was a MacBook Pro with it’s integrated video camera. This is one of the videos.
Check them out and purchase The Janitors on iTunes where the audio quality is far superior, recorded during their Memphis sessions.
Visit “The Janitors” web site. Click here.

Lee Logans cup of tea went down a treat however there was feedback: Keep it shorter and edit to the music. So in this shoot Evan and myself took things a step further by reorganizing our shoot method, away from my typical gonzo-tv report style to a script, shot-list and chosen music. Daryl’s fun interpretation made it all worthwhile.
Our mission was to brew sexy cup of tea. Starring Lee Logan, Edited by Evan Manifattori.

By compete fluke work took me to Paris on the 14th of November, this being the opening day of St Pancras International.

The platform and ceiling are nice but the waiting lounge down below feels like a social security waiting room.

This blog has taken a back seat these past couple of months due to a little show called Sex Station, which is broadcast on the french PPV network Kiosque.
Producing and directing the show has been one hell of an experience, all positive at that. The production company, Three ways productions based in London are consumate professionals.
The show lasts for 2 and a half hours, every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. It is a soft rated show for 16 and above. The girls who come on the show are wild.

Pity if you will the poor old Chinese authorities in their fight to stem the tide of internet-provoked social destabilisation. First up, you’ve got Sister Furong flaunting herself like a two-bit hussy, then there’s the thousands of addicts relentlessly gaming themselves into online degeneracy.
But it gets worse. One researcher has found that up to 20,000 Chinese regularly log on to chat rooms completely stark bollock naked - a small percentage of the country’s estimated 87 million net users, ’tis true, but more than enough to set Beijing alarm bells ringing.
That, at least, is the conclusion of China Youth Association researcher Liu Gang, who told the Shanghai Daily: “At first, we thought it was merely a game for a few mentally abnormal people. But as our research continued, we found the problem was much larger than expected.”
Yup, there’s actually thousands of mentally abnormal people out there flashing their privates and “performing provocative poses”. The basis for this shocking statistic is Liu’s investigation of “10 site participants, eight of whom were single men aged 25-35 without steady jobs”.
Ah, that explains it. A couple of years in the army will set the perverts back on the straight and narrow before it’s too late because, as the Shanghai Daily notes: “Child development authorities worry that baring one’s body to strangers will have negative consequences on a youngster’s personal growth.”
Well, we see their point, although we’re pretty certain that baring one’s body to strangers would have very postive growth consequences for one part of the average 25-35 year old’s body, although it’s not something we want to dwell on at great length. ¬Æ
Apple and Motorola have finally released the long delayed iTunes phone. Unfortunately with it’s candy bar form factor and boring Motorola old school design I suspect it will not sweep the market as it could have.

This phone will sell, but imagine if it had been built on the best that Moto currently has to offer - the Razr clam shell design - which all high power executives seem to have adopted.. then it would have been a winner. Now it’s time to ask: where is the iPhone ?

Thinksecret reports that the long awaited Apple / Motorola itunes compatible phone will be launched September 7th. What will be intriguing it the user interface. What makes the ipod so easy to use for non tech people is the scroll wheel. How will this be transposed on a Moto phone?
Apparently the phone will be able to sync with your itunes equipped regular computer and “in a departure” from policy, users will also be able to purchase songs though the network operator. Cingular in the USA, O2 in the UK.
So if Apple and Moto have got this right will they dominate ?
One shudders to think that the water part of the New Orleans disaster could have been avoided if the current US government had not cut the New Orleans works budget from $40mil to $10mil. Then again as a friend pointed out, if Florida vote machines knew how to count we would not have had:
New Orleans water disaster
War in Irak
Oil at $70
but we would have had Al Gore.

On June 16, the Tokyo High Court reduced the punishment handed down by the lower court and fined Motonori Kishi, president of publisher Shobunkan, 1.5 million yen. In January 2004, the Tokyo District Court had found Kishi guilty on charges of obscenity and sentenced him to one year in prison, subject to three years probation.
The center of the controversy, reports Tsukuru (August) was over “Misshitsu” (closed room), an adult comic. Kishi’s attorney had argued that while the comic contained illustrations depicting sexual acts, the contents did not differ appreciably from those on legally sold videos or DVDs which contained photographs performers engaged in similar acts. Had the lower court’s sentence stood, any subsequent violation, even a traffic offense, could have resulted in Kishi being obliged to serve out the full sentence in prison.
The defense maintained that Article 175 of the Criminal Code (”A person who distributes or sells a pornographic writing, picture or other object … shall be punished with imprisonment at forced labor for not more than two years or fined …) contravenes freedom of expression as guaranteed by Article 21 of the Constitution.
The current criteria for prosecuting obscenity were established by the courts based on the translation of “Lady Chatterley’s Lover,” the case for which was argued in 1957.
The prosecutors had maintained that Misshitsu contained few elements showing any intention toward espousing “artistic or philosophical values.” (Along with conventional sex scenes, the comic contains steamy depictions of rapes, sadomasochism and other behavioral aberrations. In some frames, male and female genitalia are depicted in realistic close-ups seldom seen outside of medical textbooks.)
But because Misshitsu was displayed in zoned areas of bookshops and labeled as adult reading matter, the defense argued, there was little chance it would offend so-called “average readers,” let alone minors.
Shobunkan decided to appeal the High Court’s verdict to the Supreme Court.
At a press conference following the High Court’s verdict, Kishi told reporters about his legal difficulties, beginning with the freezing of his company’s assets at the time charges were filed in 2002. “More than me personally, the authorities were bent on intimidating my employees and comic illustrators,” he said. “I’m somewhat relieved that the sentence has been reduced to a fine. And I really appreciate everyone’s support.”
During the slightly less than three years since charges were filed, Shobunkan sales declined by some 30% but the company has managed to stay afloat.
The Shobunkan case, of course, has wider implications for Japan’s publishing and book retailing trades. In a statement denouncing the High Court’s verdict, a group of 90 small and medium-sized publishers asserted their position that Article 175 of the Criminal Code contravened the constitutional right to free expression, and that while constraints on undesirable publications “which cause personal injury through discriminatory teachings” could be handled through other laws, attempts by the authorities to determine what is obscene and to keep it out of readers’ hands was “fundamentally wrong” and would “constitute controls over what can and cannot be published.”
The second book covering Shobunkan’s ongoing saga, “Hakkin Shobun: Waisetsu Comic Saiban Part II” was published last month by Michi Shuppan.

Many journalists I have worked with - are not journalists. One sided stories, little or no background investigation. Cheap and sensational at all costs.
The guys who wrote this did an excellent job. If you have heard of Mircosoft, Google and say .. blog.. or New York Times - then take a moment - click on the picture and learn about the big picture.
Transparent Task Bar – As the name implies the startbar / taskbar goes transparent. When you roll over it, or hover, the start bar becomes fully visible.

Personally I dragged the taskbar to the top of the screen. To do this make sure it is un locked (right click, make sure lock the Taskbar does not have a check mark next to it, if it does remove it), then click in an empty area and drag to the top of the screen.
I like this software because it allows you to concentrate more on the current document in hand, when the bar fades down to a low level it’s less detail for your mind to deal with.
